Just a friendly, local, photographer.

Background

Growing up on the Wirral I was constantly surrounded by nature; many of my recent wildlife photographs were actually taken in Royden Park’s Walled Garden. And I think being surrounded by nature helped to fuel my passion for photography as I just wanted to capture the beauty I was witnessing and share it with the world.

Getting into Photography

From a young age the click of a camera shutter interested me, it was such a satisfying sound that I knew I had to learn more. For a while I used my Dad’s Bridge Camera, but it was always missing something: that click.

Then in 2014 I got my hands on my first DSLR, the Canon 700D, this served me well and helped to introduce me to the photography world.

In 2022 I decided that it was time to upgrade to a Full-Frame system so purchased the Canon 6D Mark II and subsequently the Canon 1Ds Mark III as a backup. From there I have really leaped into the photography scene covering a wider range of subjects.

My Photography world blew up upon moving to Leeds in September 2022 and I’ve had so many exciting opportunities that I could never have imagined. In March 2023 I decided that I would benefit from upgrading to Mirrorless so purchased the Canon R3.

Future Work

I jump at every opportunity to take photographs and hope that my work might make someone smile.
